BURGLARS struck two family homes just a few hundred metres apart in Shipston-on-Stour on Monday.
Police are now linking the two burglaries because in both cases, offenders stole jewellery after forcing open a locked back door.
The first burglary took place sometime between 12 noon and 10.15pm on Campden Road.
The occupants returned home to find the double-glazed panel of their back door was smashed.
The burglars had made an untidy search of all the rooms and took jewellery from the bedroom including a pearl necklace, a diamond and sapphire broach, various earrings, and chains. They also took two passports.
The second burglary took place between 3.30pm and 6.30pm at a property in Callaways Road.
The homeowner returned to find the back door had been forced and the bedrooms ransacked. There was jewellery missing.
Warwickshire Police are appealing for witness to come forward with any information to help track down those responsible and recover the stolen property.
Anyone who saw any suspicious activity in these areas or has been offered jewellery to buy is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident numbers 0281 and 0356.
Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
