Association chairman Gary Jeffery said yesterday (Wednesday): “While there was a discussion on the controversy over Nadhim’s electricity bills, we were all agreed that he had made a genuine mistake.

"Nadhim has recognised that he should have been more diligent and has apologised unreservedly.

"That mistake should not overshadow the great work Nadhim has done in representing Stratford-on-Avon over the last three years: whether standing up for local people against inappropriate development, working with the councillors to sort out Stratford’s parking, or successfully helping thousands of people and businesses with their individual problems.

"It is vital that we have successful entrepreneurs in Parliament making the case for policies which create jobs and growth. The people of Stratford-on-Avon have a strong voice in Nadhim.”
