AN ELDERLY motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after crashing into a deer this afternoon in Tredington, near Shipston-on-Stour.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the incident on the A3400, which killed the deer, at approximately 2.30pm.
An ambulance, a paramedic in a response car, and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews responded to a collision between a motorcycle and deer.
“A man in his seventies was treated for a fractured leg, chest and shoulder injuries.
“The patient was immobilised using a neck collar, spinal board and pelvic splint.
“He was also given pain relief and anaesthetised by a doctor aboard the air ambulance before being airlifted to the University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire.
“It is understood the deer died in the collision.”
