A POLICE stop check on the M40 led to the recovery of around £100,000 in cash and approximately 16 kilos of drugs.
Officers stopped a car on Sunday 5th May and discovered the money inside the vehicle.
Approximately 16 kilos of drugs believed to be amphetamine were recovered from a house search that police then carried out.
Gurgit Rai, aged 43, of Larchwood Road, Exhall in Coventry was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with conspiracy to supply amphetamine, and money laundering.
Following a court hearing at Leamington Magistrates today (Wednesday), Rai was released on bailed and is due to appear at Warwick Crown Court on 13th August.
Two other people, a 32-year-old man and 41-year-old woman, were also arrested in relation to this incident and released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Warwickshire Police are retaining the money under the Proceeds of Crime Act for six months whilst investigations continue.
