Stratford man arrested over £113,000 stolen from police headquarters released on bail

THE STRATFORD 54-year-old arrested on suspicion of stealing £113,000 from Warwickshire police headquarters has been released on bail.

Arrested on Wednesday morning at his home in the Stratford-on-Avon district, he was taken into custody for questioning.

He has now been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Back on September 30th 2011, the huge amount of money which was stored in a secure area at police headquarters in Leek Wootton was reported missing.

Since then, a confidential investigation has been taking place, carried out by the Anti Corruption Unit of Warwickshire Police’s Professional Standards Department.
