The new entrance will be from the roundabout outside Globe House, off Priory Road, and is set to be complete by Easter weekend at the end of March.
Currently the store’s car park can only be accessed by vehicles via Moorfield Road, off School Road.
Warwickshire County Councillor Mike Gittus (Cons, Alcester) said the new access will ensure that visitors will be able to quickly identify the car parking arrangements provided for the town’s visitors and shoppers.
Cllr Gittus said: “Alcester continues to gain strength from outside national business investors who over the last three years have identified that this town has the potential to become the premier market town in the district.”
He continued: “Waitrose has undoubtedly been a considerable draw to our town and many independent businesses will have benefited from the continued investment from this branded company.”
Sam Rath, chairman of the Alcester Chamber of Trade added: “This new parking arrangement will enable ease of access to our vibrant High Street and I welcome the continuing support from Waitrose.”
