James Roe collects MBE from Buckingham Palace

STRATFORD-upon-Avon’s Paralympic gold medallist, James Roe, collected his MBE from Buckingham Palace today (Wednesday).

The champion rower, and ex-King Edward VI School pupil, was awarded an MBE in the New Year’s Honours list after his performance at London 2012.

At 8.30am he tweeted: "Very excited to be collecting an MBE from the palace today. Struggling to fit into the GB suit which fitted so well in September though #fat"
