Body of missing man found in River Avon

THE BODY of a Warwick man missing since New Year's Day was found in the River Avon between Warwick and Barford on Monday.

Bernard Tandi, aged 38, from Portobello Way, was formally identified after a specialist water search team recovered his body from the water.

Police were alerted after a member of public saw his body on a remote stretch of the river.

A post morten is scheduled to take place tomorrow (Thursday), to establish the cause of his death.
