Flood alerts issued for the Avon and the Stour

FLOOD alerts were issued this morning for the River Avon and River Stour after light snow and heavy rain on Sunday night.

Levels are rising on the Avon between Rugby and Bidford and are expected to continue rising over the next 12 hours.

The Environment Agency also issued an alert for the Stour in south Warwickshire.

At 8am this morning levels were still rising, although they are expected to become steady over the next few hours before starting to fall later on today.
