Paramedic officer Benjamin Lyons, said: “Crews arrived to find three cars that had been in a serious collision. One car had rolled over and came to rest on its roof. The woman who was driving the car that overturned, believed to be in her 40’s, suffered a serious hand and arm injury.  The woman had managed to extricate herself from the vehicle before ambulance crews arrived.

 

“She received emergency treatment at the scene including pain relief.  The woman’s condition was stabilised and she was airlifted to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further emergency treatment. A trauma team were on standby at hospital awaiting her arrival.

 

“A man in his 60s and a man in his 40s, travelling in the other two vehicles, both suffered minor injuries and were checked over at the scene.  Both were discharged and did not require hospital treatment.”
