NEIGHBOURS stopped two men burgling a house in Stratford-upon-Avon on Sunday night.
Police were called to Chesterton Drive at 8.15pm to a report of two males forcing their way into a property and stealing an amount of cash from the male occupant.
However, the man’s neighbours managed to detain one of the alleged burglars until the police arrived and the cash was recovered.
One man was arrested, although the other man managed to escape.
John Payne, aged 39 from Stratford, has since been charged with aggravated burglary. He appeared before magistrates in Leamington on Tuesday.
He has been remanded in custody until he appears at Crown Court on April 30th.
