Car fire blocks A46

A CAR fire blocked part of the A46 during rush hour this morning, (Tuesday).

Firefighters were called at 8.45am to tackle the fire on a slip road near Stoneleigh. The wreckage was removed shortly after 10am.

A Warwickshire Fire Service spokesman said: "There was a car on fire at the exit slip road.

"Fire crews arrived to find it well alight. They extinguished the fire using two breathing apparatus and a hose reel.

"The incident was left with police after the fire was extinguished."
