ALMOST £900 was raised by Naomi Wood during her sponsored head shave which she did to show solidarity with her Aunt Ruth who was diagnosed with breast cancer last year.
Naomi from Stratford-upon-Avon gathered with family and friends for the head shave last Friday evening which saw her aunt—Ruth Sampson-Dampier—shave the first few inches of Naomi's dark shoulder-length hair.
Ruth is currently undergoing chemotherapy and Naomi thought the head shave was a great way to say 'we're with you every step of the way'.
The event at Bridgetown School was attended by over 100 people and included music, face painting and cake stalls and children counted down from the number ten to signal the start of the head shave which lasted six minutes. The money raised will be donated to Cancer Research UK.
