Stratford woman shaving head for Aunt with cancer

A STRATFORD-UPON-AVON woman is shaving her head on Friday in an act of solidarity with her aunt who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

Naomi Wood, from Packhorse Road, is removing all the hair from her head on the same day her Aunt Ruth finishes her second bout of chemotheraphy, a point when doctors told her she would have lost all of her hair.

Her Aunt will be giving her the first cut and then Sharkey’s the children’s hairdressers will be taking over.

Naomi said: “Honestly, I'm terrified, however I am trying to look upon it as a liberating experience. It should be a lot of fun, quite a few things going on. As a woman it is a daunting experience shaving my head but feel that it is a small sacrifice compared with what my aunt and many others have to go through"

She hopes to raise £1,000 for cancer research, and donations can be made at www.justgiving.com/naomiwood0902
