As predicted by the Met Office snow was falling across South Warwickshire on Saturday afternoon.
Several centimeters had fallen in the Stratford-upon-Avon area by early evening.

Issuing a severe weather warning the office said accumulations of snow of around 5cm are likely in
places, including low lying areas.

The Met office told the public that travel may be disrupted, and advised them to pay close
attention to forecasts.

West Midlands Ambulance service issued a warning ahead of the forecasted wintry weather:

A spokesperson said: “No-one wants to be a misery but although snow and ice can be a huge
amount of fun, it can also be quite dangerous.

"Clearly playing on frozen lakes and canals can have tragic consequences if people fall on or
through ice, equally we see people becoming injured in sledging accidents."
