Ms Short said: “The carnival included a giant-sized Royalty on Wheels feature with characters representing the Queen, Prince William and his bride Katherine, as well as Alice in Wonderland characters and majorettes.

“The Mezzos were asked to stand right next to the car that Ant and Dec were in and were involved in all the filming. They had a great day even though it was freezing and Ant an Dec even rubbed their hands to keep them warm.”

Twenty young Mezzo dancers have also been selected to work with Mezzo teachers on 63 dance routines to be be featured in a new Wii and PS3 game.

Ms Short said: “In 2011 we used our adult dancers and choreographers to provide all the artistic work for Wii and PS3 game Get up and Dance.

They also filmed the trailer and attended the launch party dancing with Amy Childs, the star of  television’s The Only Way Is Essex. Mezzo has now received the contract for a junior version.”

Auditions were held in Stratford and of the 60 auditioning, 20 dancers were selected to work with their dance teachers in the new game.

The dancers in Micro Mezzos, Wild Things and Mystique are now waiting to hear if they have got through to the next round of ITV’s Britain's Got

Talent auditions  as well as being invited to perform in Stratford at the mayor’s ball on 2nd March.

Ms Short added: “Our fingers and toes are all crossed to see if we are chosen for the next round of Britain’s Got Talent auditions. With the new panel of Aliesha Dixon, Amanda Holder, David Williams and Simon Cowell, all of Mezzos want to be a part of the show when it is filmed in Birmingham at the end of February.

“It is also a great honour to be asked by the mayor Cllr Bill Dowling to perform at his ball. The Mezzos have had a fantastic start to the year.”
