A FLATPACK version of Stratford-upon-Avon's 975 seat Royal Shakespeare Theatre could be built in London everytime the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) performs its biggest productions.
The RSC has not had a permanent base in London since it left the Barbican ten years ago, although regular performances have been held at the Roundhouse and Novello theatres in the capital.
The flatpack theatre would be created each time the RSC wanted to perform its biggest productions in London and is considering the flatpack proposal which has already been used in a similar construction by the company in New York for productions of King Lear and Julius Caesar.
