Berwick signs on for Town

STRATFORD Town have signed Leamington striker Tom Berwick to bolster their Baker Joiner Midland Alliance title chase.

The prolific marksman is all set to go straight into Carl Adams’ starting line-up for their crunch home game against Gornal Athletic on Saturday when leading scorer Tony Robinson begins a two-match suspension.

Berwick has also had spells with Nuneaton Town, Daventry Town and Redditch United. He scored 52 goals when he helped Daventry to the United Counties League Premier Division title in 2010.

With Tyrone Fagan still seeking match fitness following his recent injury lay-off, the move will lend support to youngster Jamie Molyneux who has impressed since coming into the side for the last few games.

Another boost for Town is the return to the club of Chris Lait, who featured prominently earlier in the season before he joined Southern League Premier Division outfit Banbury United.
