Joy for Jamie in Town triumph

STRATFORD Town striker Jamie Molyneux struck twice as his side overcame a talented Tipton outfit 3-0 at the DCS Stadium last night (Tuesday).

The youngster converted two first-half chances to add to a fifth minute opener from midfielder Lei Brown which stretched Town’s lead at the top of the Baker Joiner Midland Alliance to a staggering 19 points.

Second-placed Stourport Swifts have a scheduled fixture at basement club Ellesmere Rangers tonight (Wednesday), while Loughborough University’s Tuesday night game at home to Rocester was called off after thick fog enveloped the East Midlands.

Gornal Athletic—who are now out of the FA Carlsberg Vase and theoretically could come to within two points of Town if they won all of their eight games in hand—won their Black Country derby against Tividale 2-1 on Tuesday.

Stratford manager Carl Adams was in a buoyant mood after his side’s latest victory which was their 23rd of what has been a superb season so far.
