STRATFORD Town restored their 16-point lead at the top of the Baker-Joiner Midland Alliance after a thumping 7-0 victory at bottom club Ellesmere Rangers on Saturday.
A hat-trick from midfielder Joe Halsall combined with a brace from Lei Brown and further strikes from Tony Robinson and Jamie Bailey gave Carl Adams' men their 13th away win of the season.
Since the start of 2013 Stratford have scored an incredible 20 goals in the four games that have been played, conceding just four.
Adams said: “Yet again on a difficult pitch we were outstanding. We seem to be getting better and better, and we now have some special players in the squad who have the commitment and desire to keep us where we want to be - at the top of the table.”
Second-placed Stourport Swifts' game at Kirby Muxloe was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch. Loughborough University closed the gap on Swifts to just one point after they beat Tipton Town 3-1.
