STRATFORD RFC celebrated the opening of the new Six Nations campaign with a superb 27 points to 20 victory at Worcester Wanderers on Saturday. The result lifted Steve Joslin’s men into fifth place in the Midlands 1 West league table.
In Midlands 2 West (South), struggling Shipston crashed to a 58-0 defeat against league-leaders Old Laurentians at Mayo Road. The Rams lie in the bottom two.
Midlands 3 West (South) action saw Southam win their basement battle with Redditch, 33-7.
Harbury continued their Midlands 4 West (South) promotion push with a 28-8 triumph over Coventry Welsh at Waterloo Fields. They are in second place in the table.
The South Warwickshire local derby between Alcester and Claverdon went the way of the home team who won 17-15 at King’s Coughton. Warwickian’s home game against Manor Park was postponed.
In Midlands 5 West (South), Wellesbourne were edged out in a 6-5 defeat at Birmingham Exiles.
