Spate of vehicle break-ins continues Sims not shutting down but 15 people set to lose jobs Spanky the parrot does a flier Costa crash: man charged with dangerous driving Town go west in new league

Town ready for Tipton test

WEATHER permitting, Stratford Town will be looking to resume their Baker Joiner Midland Alliance promotion campaign on Saturday when they entertain Tipton Town at the DCS Stadium in a 3pm kick-off.

They were frustrated last Saturday when persistent rain 24 hours before their scheduled home fixture against Heath Hayes caused the game to be postponed. That game will now take place on Tuesday 12th March which means that Town will have five consecutive home games in the month of March.

Promotion rivals Stourport Swifts, Loughborough University and Gornal Athletic all suffered disruption to their programme this week as the freezing conditions began to take their toll.

And with the forecast predicting snow for this weekend, further postponements could be on the cards.

Town boss Carl Adams has told the Herald he believes the disruption to fixtures will cause more problems for his side’s rivals than his own team.

See Thursday’s Stratford Herald for the latest comments from the Town chief.
