Poppy tin thefts: suspect charged

A MAN who allegedly stole two poppy tins in Henley-in-Arden, and another in Stratford-upon-Avon, has been charged with five offences of theft.

Tyrone McDermott, aged 31 from Ward End, Birmingham, is now due to appear at Solihull Magistrates Court on 8th February.
Poppy appeal tins were taken from the White Swan Hotel and One Stop shop in Henley in early November, outraging the Royal British Legion.

A third tin was taken from a shop on Waterside in Stratford, and the man has also been charged for two other thefts.

Officers from the Alcester North Safer Neighbourhood Team thanked businesses and members of the public for their information and co-operation.
