NICK BALLINGER reckons he could be blessed with the strongest squad he has had all season as FC Stratford prepare to face Bolehall Swifts at the Arden Garages Stadium tomorrow (Saturday).
It will be Stratford’s first game in two weeks after last week’s postponement away to Feckenham and boss Ballinger hopes the break will allow niggles, bumps and illnesses to clear up for the Midland League Division Two contest.
Dan Atkins is likely to be the only absentee, with a back injury set to keep him out until the new year.
But striker Jimmy Macmillan, who has been missing for five weeks, is set to be fit and midfielder Caine Elliott for the clash with second-from-bottom Bolehall.
“Hopefully on Saturday it will be the first time I’ve had some selection problems,” said Ballinger.
“We’ve probably had only 14 available every week due to various things but on paper I could be in a position to pick a team from 16-18 players.
“There’s a bit of competition for places which will be good.”
Ballnger, though, will also be aware he will need to rotate his young squad since three of the players will be away over the Christmas period.
