Prove me wrong, Baillie tells fringe players

Stratford Town head of football Thomas Baillie.

THOMAS Baillie will urge his fringe players to ‘prove me wrong’ when Stratford Town head to Didcot Town tonight (Tueday) in the CSS League Challenge Cup.
The Town boss will use the third round tie at the Railwaymen as the chance to shuffle the players around and hand the chance to players recently out of the starting XI the opportunity to impress.
Players on the bench in Saturday’s 2-0 win at Halesowen Town such as Josh Cooke and Ross Oulton and Claudio Dias will start while Cody Fisher and Kieron Westwood, who were not part of the matchday 16, are also expected to feature.
Recent signings Taylor Morrison and Andre Olunkanmi will miss out, however, as they are both cup-tied having played for Alechurch and Cambridge City in the competition.
Baillie also hinted he could have a couple of new faces on board to face the high-flying Division One Central side.
Regardless of the line-up, however, he will send out a team to win the tie and book a place in the quarter-finals.
“Some players have been unhappy not being in the team over the past few weeks and Tuesday night is the chance for them to prove me wrong,” said Baillie. “They have got the perfect opportunity to put themselves firmly in my thoughts.
“There will be some changes but it’s a game we want to win. That is the mentality I want to see.”
