Youngsters take on the best in Hampton Head

YOUNGSTERS from Stratford Boat Club stepped up to the challenge of competing against the country’s top rowing schools and clubs in the Hampton Small Boats Head.
A processional time trial over 3,000 metres, it is recognised as the highest quality winter event for small boats: and attracts more than 700 hundred crews.
The J15 doubles partnership of Amelie Sartain and Sophie Elstone finished an outstanding fifth, within only five seconds of a medal-winning position. Harriet Hodgson and Sienna Rawlings finished in an equally respectable 14th.
Other Stratford Boat Club rowers included Conar Aitchison and Will Clarke (OJ15.2x); Sienna Rawlings, Amelie Sartain, Sophie Elstone and Martha Usselmann, coxed by Elisabeth Edwards, (WJ15.4x+); Abbey Meggeson, Elisabeth Edwards, Emma Harrison and Julia Zampronio Gurden, coxed by Conar Aitchison (WJ15.4x+); Joe Hodson (J17 singles); Molly Gill-Swift (J17 girls); Emily Browne (J17 girls); Katie Wellstead (J17 girls); Talei Dunn (J17 girls); Talei Dunn/Katie Wellstead (J17 double sculls) and Khloe Curnock/Emily Browne (J17 double sculls).
