Alcester mayor warns of accidents unless school road is gritted

The mayor of Alcester is urging the county council to grit the road outside two busy schools, warning that the situation is an accident waiting to happen.

Cllr Andrew Foster launched an online petition earlier this month calling for the council to grit St Faiths Road, on which St Nicholas C of E Primary and Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School are based.

The road is also a bus route, which has only increased calls for it to be gritted.

The petition on has already been signed by more than 260 people, smashing its original target of 200 and is now aiming to reach 500.
