The new operator of Stratford ArtsHouse has urged people to get behind the venue following a row over fees last week.
Proon Productions took over the ArtsHouse, which it plans to rename Play House, back in May, after the previous operator failed to come to an agreement with Stratford Town Trust over funding.
The venue has yet to officially open, but members of a group who wanted to book a Northern Soul night took to Facebook last week to complain about high fees.
The issue seems to stem from the need to dismantle and then re-install the tiered seating after the Northern Soul night, which would have added extra costs.
Despite the criticism aimed at Proon Productions, the company say people need to be realistic about the costs involved, pointing out that the costing model employed by the previous operator clearly didn’t work.
