A MAJOR revamp of the Ellen Badger Hospital in Shipston potentially costing £1million will be shaped by the public and hospital partnerships it has been revealed.
South Warwickshire NHS Trust, working closely the hospital’s League of Friends, has already purchased a plot of land in April next to the hospital and a £500,000 investment programme to provide enhanced inpatient facilities is ongoing.
The hospital is regarded as a key part of the Trust’s future healthcare delivery and the revamp is needed to meet population growth in addition to other demographic needs. It will also enable the Trust to achieve its objective of providing a more ‘joined up’ health service to the people of Shipston and surrounding areas.
The next important steps will include developing a business plan, appointing architects, design and costs, obtaining planning permission and the launch of a fundraising appeal.
A key component in the whole process will be feedback from public, staff, partners and stakeholders which will be collated from an online survey available or downloaded hard copy and posted – free – to Warwick Hospital.
The patient services survey closes on Friday 31st August and the data will be reviewed in September.
