VOLUNTEERS selflessly gave up some or all of their Christmas Day to help cook and serve free lunches to people from all walks of life so they could enjoy good food and company during the festive season.
Towns like Alcester and Henley held their first community Christmas lunches while Stratford-upon-Avon and Shipston hosted lunches for a second time.
As well the caring efforts of the volunteers local businesses large and small contributed willingly and gave everything from turkeys to refreshments.
For those who faced the prospect of a Christmas Day alone the efforts made by spirited souls across south Warwickshire helped make for a traditional yuletide celebration with all the trimmings.
Full round-up of the volunteer Christmas lunches in this week’s Herald.
