THE Myton Hospices’ Santa Dash will take place this weekend after heavy show forced its cancellation on Sunday.
People who signed up to the event are now invited to complete the festive 5k run on Sunday, starting and finishing at the Warwick hospice, with a circuit of St Nicholas’ Park in between.
Participants have been advised to arrive from 9am to collect their Santa and elf suits before setting off at 10am.
Anyone who cannot take part on Sunday has been encouraged to either run it in their own time or join the Leamington Park Run on Saturday, 23rd December.
A spokeswoman for the hospice said: “We are determined to try and £35,000 in sponsorship from the event which would be enough to fund the recruitment, training and salary of a nurse for one year.
“We want to apologise for having to cancel the Santa Dash on Sunday.
“It was a huge disappointment; however we are sure everyone will understand that the safety of our supporters and volunteers had to come first.
“We hope as many people as possible will be able to attend the revised event on Sunday and help us to still reach our target of £35,000!”
