A SPOOKY orange glow has shrouded many parts of the country this morning.
And the Met Office has revealed the reason behind this weird phenomenon.
In addition to strong winds, ex-hurricane Ophelia brought with it large amounts of Saharan dust as it headed towards the UK.
That dust means the Sun pushes more red than blue light through into our atmosphere, creating what is known as a ‘hurricane sun’.
Other meteorologists have said that smoke from the devastating wildfires that are sweeping parts of Spain and Portugal could also be adding to the orange glow.
