A MULTI-MILLION pound redevelopment of Feldon Valley Golf Club in Lower Brailes golf club has begun.
The £6.6million project will see the existing clubhouse remodelled, the construction of a new 13-bedroom hotel and four woodland lodges built at the site.
The clubhouse interior layout will be redesigned, while terraces overlooking the 18-hole course will be built.
The new hotel and lodges will provide room for up to 60 overnight guests, while space for parking at the venue will be increased.
The club says that high-quality, naturally weathering materials will be used throughout to ensure the development is in-keeping with the area of natural beauty, in which it is located. The entire redevelopment is set to be completed by next summer.
Robert Clive, operations director for 360 Golf Ltd, said: “These are very exciting times for Feldon Valley. The changes are designed to give the business long-term sustainability, they are extensive and ambitious and will also result in the workforce doubling in size.
“It was vital to us that the construction was carried out professionally and sensitively as the golf business will remain open throughout the contract period.
“Stepnell were very impressive at the tender stage and two months into the build have been professional, efficient and good neighbours.”
Stepnell construction director, Bill Haynes, says: “This major redevelopment is set to transform the facilities available at the Feldon Valley Golf Club, making the most of its amazing location, enhancing the clubhouse and creating contemporary, architecturally interesting, state-of-the-art accommodation for members and visitors.”
The club has confirmed that it will remain fully open during the building programme and will ensure that disruption to the operations at the club will be kept to a minimum.
