STRATFORD’S historic rail past is back on track as Escape Arts celebrates the town’s rail links as part of the heritage open days this weekend.

The open days include an exhibition by Phillip Williams called Stratford’s Lost Railways.

Told visually through memorabilia, artefacts and photographs, featuring the digitally restored, historic 35mm colour slides of the late Tom Williams, paired with present-day photographs, illustrations and easy-to-understand schematics by his son, local designer and photographer, Phil Williams the exhibition opens a window into Stratford’s railway past.

The exhibition runs until December.

There’s also a children’s train building and model railway and refreshments in the buffet car.

The heritage open days at Escape Arts are Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th September, 11am to 4pm at The Old Slaughterhouse Arts and Heritage Studio, The Yard, Stratford.
