Spectators were thrilled to see Wellesbourne Airfield’s iconic Vulcan bomber fire up its engines at the weekend during a special members day.

Around 170 guests watched as all four engines were tested, while the aircraft’s pre-flight checks were broadcast over the airfield’s PA system.

RAF cadets lent their support to the open day for members here pictured awaiting the Vulcan’s four Olympus engines to fire into life.                                                              Photo: Mark Williamson
