Bard in brief

FOLLOWING their much acclaimed recent production of Henry V, Tread the Boards Theatre Company are going once more unto the breach with another spot of Bard — this time, however, they are going the whole hog with The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged.

Naturally this is the humorous, abridged version by Adam Long, Jess Borgeson and Daniel Singer, in which 37 plays, 154 sonnets are delivered in 97 minutes performed by three men.

Join Tread the Boards as they take you on this whistle stop tour of the Bard’s great works: Titus Andronicus performed as a cooking show, Othello as a rap and Hamlet backwards!

This production has received critical acclaim and was a sell out at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2014.

Since then it has gone on to do a national tour including a one-night-only performance on the main stage at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

Returning after a two-year break, the company promises it will be even more hilarious and madcap than ever before.

WHERE AND WHEN: The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged runs at The Attic Theatre, Cox’s Yard, Stratford, from 18th May to 11th June. To book call 07952 819557 or visit the website,
