During the afternoon the winners will receive a scrumptious Afternoon Tea at Hathaway Tea Rooms and in the evening will receive a private ghost tour of the famously haunted Tudor World museum.
The Afternoon Tea consists of finger sandwiches; fresh homemade scones served with strawberry conserve and clotted cream; dainty hand-crafted cakes, accompanied by tea or coffee will be taken in one of the many rooms within the 17th century oak-beamed establishment in the High Street.
In the evening, the recipients will receive a private ghost tour within the shadowy hallways of the historic property in Sheep Street that houses Tudor World, and appeared in the TV show Most Haunted. The two sets of winners can bring five people in total (inclusive).
The prizes for this competition come from Tudor World and Hathaway Tea Rooms. Tudor World is an historic museum depicting life in the town during the Tudor era and whose origins date back to the beginning of the town in the 12th century, accessed by the oldest and only remaining original cobbled street in the town. Hathaway Tea Rooms is one of the largest tea rooms in Stratford and situated over three floors.
Hathaway Tea Rooms, built in 1610, are notable for being the oldest tea rooms in Stratford (1931) yet still continue to innovate and offer their customers high quality new products including this year, for the first time, the takeaway ‘Picnic in a Bag’. Tudor World and Hathaway Tea Rooms offer Shakespeare Supper evenings and Shakespeare Afternoon Tea for groups.
