Police were called to the roundabout that connects the Birmingham Road and the A46 at 6.48am.

The lorry, which has fallen on its side, was carrying 24 tonnes of mangoes and overturned after a crash with a Toyota car.

The lorry driver was taken to hospital with ear pain and a suspected broken finger.

Bishopton Lane is closed and delays are expected to be in place for two or three hours while the lorry is recovered.

This morning's crash is nearly identical to one that took place in October 2012.

The lorry toppled onto its side in the same place, between the Bishopton Lane and Alcester Road turnings, on a busy Saturday morning.

The 31-year-old driver of that lorry suffered no injuries.

A similar lorry crash took place on Saturady 13th October, 2012.
