In the West Midlands as a whole Ukip led the field with 428,010 votes, with Labour in second place with 363,033 and the Conservatives third with 330,470. The Lib Dems came a poor fourth with 75,648, not that far ahead of the Green Party which got 71,464.

Following these results Ukip now has three members of the European Parliament (MEPs) in the West Midlands—one up on the previous position—Labour two and the Conservatives two. The Lib Dems have none.

Although Ukip attracted a substantial increase in votes in the Stratford-on-Avon District Council elections, the party failed to win any of the ten seats it was fighting out of the 18 that were up for grabs.
