The 20-year-old South African compiled a hard-hitting 82 as the Panthers made 244-5 in response to the home side’s 241 all out. Captain Chris Whelan was unbeaten on 54 while Dexter Purser made 45 as Stratford registered their first win of the new campaign.

Seamer Tom Grundy took the bowling plaudits with 4-28 from 10 overs with Mike Brown returning 3-41.

Stratford return to home soil on Saturday when Penn are the visitors in a 12noon start.
